Anju Sharma

Event/workshop report, 20 pages

The 2018 ecbi pre-COP training workshop took place on 1 December at the Focus Hotel in Katowice, Poland. It was organised by the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), Oxford Climate Policy (OCP), and the Legal Response International (LRI).

The workshop targeted 28 negotiators from Least Developed Countries (LDCs), who were attending the 24th Conference of Parties (COP24) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

This report summarises the different discussions and activities that took place, including introductory remarks by then-LDC Chair Gebru Endalew, presentations on the different COP agenda items and practical advice on negotiating effectively.

Project information

We aim to create a more level playing field for all government delegations taking part in climate negotiations at the international level through our work. That's why IIED manages the European Capacity Building Initiative (ecbi) training and support programme, which focuses on building the capacity of UNFCCC negotiators from vulnerable developing countries.
