National Workshop on Mainstreaming of the NBSAP for Republic of Zambia
This report from the Zambian Ministry of Lands, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection summarises a national workshop held in April 2016 to assess the gaps in biodiversity mainstreaming approaches in Zambia and to identify relevant policies which could be targeted for improvements. It identifies consultations on the country’s seventh National Development Plan, the draft Wetlands Policy, the Land Policy and the Zambia Integrated Land Information System as opportunities for increasing biodiversity mainstreaming, with the project seeking to ensure more financial resources are secured for biodiversity.
This Darwin Initiative and BMZ-funded project supported African countries to use their revised national biodiversity and strategy action plans (NBSAPs) as a vehicle for integrating biodiversity into development policy and planning.
