National Report on Mainstreaming Biodiversity in Development Policy and Planning Initiative Seychelles
This report summarises findings from a workshop held in the Seychelles in March 2016 as part of the IIED/UNEP-WCMC Mainstreaming Biodiversity in Development Policy and Planning Initiative. It identifies opportunities to increase biodiversity mainstreaming through the draft Blue Economy Road Map, the Tourism Strategic Action Plan, the National Education Strategic Action Plan and expected mid-term reviews on sustainable development strategy and land use and development plans. It proposes an NBSAP implementation unit and a national Planning Coordination Unit to guide alignment and implementation.
This Darwin Initiative and BMZ-funded project supported African countries to use their revised national biodiversity and strategy action plans (NBSAPs) as a vehicle for integrating biodiversity into development policy and planning.
