National Report on Mainstreaming Biodiversity into Development: Draft Strategic Diagnostic Discussion Paper Namibia
This report by Namibia’s Ministry of Environment and Tourism looks at the work of the working group implementing the revised National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) in Namibia, drawing on an earlier workshop held in 2013. The report identifies Namibia’s fifth National Development Plan (NDP5) as a target policy for improving biodiversity mainstreaming, as well as identifying a need to develop an integrated Communication, Education and Public Awareness Strategy on environmental issues.
This Darwin Initiative and BMZ-funded project supported African countries to use their revised national biodiversity and strategy action plans (NBSAPs) as a vehicle for integrating biodiversity into development policy and planning.
