Impact note on Ghana ASM dialogue


Project material

IIED's first national dialogue for artisanal and small scale gold mining (ASM) took place in Ghana on 18th-22nd January 2016. Over 60 national stakeholders gathered for the four-day dialogue leading to:
1. Consensus on a new agenda for change
2. Leadership, enthusiasm and confidence in now having the tools for real change
3. Unprecedented collaboration across multiple stakeholders and sectors
4 A learning and leadership group to drive next steps and link with national and international initiatives

Project information

Through dialogue, IIED is providing a neutral space for stakeholders to identify solutions to the challenges facing the artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) sector. Dialogue will be grounded in local context with parity of voice across all the key stakeholders, including artisanal and small-scale miners themselves.
