The Forest Governance Learning Group is an informal alliance of in-country groups and international partners currently active in seven African and three Asian countries. We aim to connect those marginalised from forest governance to those controlling it, and to help both do things better.

The work plan of FGLG-South Africa incorporates monitoring and reporting on national activities that affect small forest enterprises, such as the implementation of the National Industrial Policy Action Plan, the SMFE strategy and the land reform policy review process. The team will also be engaging directly with national policymakers by providing input into the forest sector climate response strategy and South Africa's position on the EU's FLEGT process.
