As part of the Securing Pastoralism in East and West Africa: Protecting and Promoting Livestock Mobility project, this report explores, analyses and assesses activities relating to rehabilitating and managing livestock corridors in Sudan focusing on experiences from Kordofan (central western Sudan)and Gedarif State, Eastern Sudan. The aim is to capture evidence of the experiences of practitioners in directly promoting or protecting livestock mobility.

Project information

Livestock mobility is crucial for ensuring high livestock productivity, market access and building prosperous and peaceful societies in the drylands. IIED and partners documented a number of successful initiatives to facilitate mobility and experimented with scenario planning to help empower pastoralists and allow them to influence decisions on policy or resource allocation.
