Growing Forest Partnerships is an initiative that helps develop and support networks of people and organisations at local, national and international levels towards the equitable and sustainable management of forestry resources.

This briefing tells the story of the emergence of a new alliance, known collectively as the Three Rights Holders Group - or the G3, for short. This network has grown out of a recognition that beyond stopping deforestation, the key to using forests to reduce poverty and mitigate climate change must come also from sustainable forest management.

This alliance brings together groups representing family foresters, community forestry organisations and indigenous peoples. Together they are overcoming their differences and speaking with one voice to influence policy at the global level.
