This report provides a detailed description of the Plan Vivo system for generating carbon services from rural communities for sale in the voluntary carbon market.

The Plan Vivo is a set of procedures and administrative systems for managing carbon assets across a mosaic of numerous small-scale farmers or community groups. The objective is to provide project developers of water service projects with a model for possible application to their sites. Carbon services are generated either by sequestering carbon through afforestation and reforestation activities, or by reducing greenhouse gas emissions through efficient, cleaner energy or fuel generation or usage.
