This 100th issue of the Gatekeeper series takes stock of the state of the world’s agri-food system. In a period of rapid change towards increasing globalisation and industrialisation, it asks how to improve knowledge of the dynamics of local food systems; how to bring about democratic change in those systems; how to increase market power for marginal farmers; and how to enhance and sustain the ecological and cultural diversity of agri-food systems.
