Participatory Learning and Action Research (PLAR) for Integrated Soil Fertility Management (IFM) is a new approach to agricultural research and extension that has been successfully introduced in several villages in western Kenya. This study attempts to scale up and institutionalise PLAR within research and extension organisations.
