Extending Our Responsibilities: Designing European foreign policies for sustainable development

The European Union is committed to the pursuit of sustainable development in all its policies. But it has yet to set out a comprehensive strategy for how its range of external policies needs to be reformed to serve sustainability. This report draws on an October 1997 workshop hosted by IIED and the Goethe-Institute in London and presents the latest thinking on greening foreign policy and the European policy response.
