MGNREGS: Integrated watershed management and climate resilience

This report explores whether and how the assets delivered under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Schemes can contribute to long-term adaptation by the rural poor in India. Based on a desk review and interviews across three arid and semi-arid Indian states, it investigates the design and policy evolution of MGNREGS as a vehicle for resilience building.

The report identifies policy and design opportunities through which the provision of assets under MGNREGS can improve the long-term resilience of rural beneficiaries.
