生物多样性——地球上生命的多样性——正在以惊人的速度消失。迄今
为止,这一直被视为一个环境问题。然而,所谓的生物多样性危机也是
一场发展危机。生物多样性的丧失可能会破坏来之不易的发展成果,包
括健康、恢复力、粮食安全和国内生产总值收入。穷人特别依赖生物多
样性——既要满足日常生活需要,又要增强对气候变化和其他威胁的适
应能力。因此,它们受到的损失最大,尤其是在气候变化的情况下。
2020年,国际社会将商定一项新的生物多样性管理十年战略。确保这
对生物多样性和人类都有效,需要比迄今为止所做的更多协调一致的思
考和行动。现在是发展界迎接这一挑战并参与辩论的时候了。
