In December 2014, the Government of Peru hosted the annual conference of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) at its capital, Lima. Taking place in parallel from the 1st to the 14th of December were the twentieth session of the Conference of the Parties (COP-20), the tenth session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP-10), the fortyfirst sessions of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI-41) and the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA-41), and the seventh part of the second session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (ADP 2-7). Soon after the COP, Parties gathered again for the eighth part of the second session of the ADP (ADP 2-8), from 8 to 13 February 2015, in Geneva, Switzerland. This paper provides an overview of the Lima conference outcomes, and the status of ADP discussions in the lead-up to the subsequent negotiations session (1-12 June 2015, Bonn, Germany).
