U-PCLG Policy Memo on the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park General Management Plan 2013-23 Planning Process
The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) is responsible for the management of protected areas in Uganda and is mandated to develop general management plans to guide the day-to-day management of protected areas. The general management plan for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park expired in 2012, and in September 2013 the Uganda Poverty and Conservation Learning Group (U-PCLG) held a consultation meeting to discuss the draft general management plan 2013-23. This memo highlights the main comments provided to UWA.
This publication is an output of the Poverty and Conservation Learning Group (PCLG) - Briefing Paper
The Poverty and Conservation Learning Group is an international network of more than 100 conservation and development organisations that promotes learning on the linkages between biodiversity conservation and poverty reduction, in order to improve policy and practice. Individuals with an interest in poverty-conservation issues are also welcome to join the group to take advantage of the resources we offer, and to contribute to our work.
