Comments and Analysis: GCF Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme

Review Note for the 8th meeting of the Green Climate Fund (GCF).

At the 7th Board meeting in Songdo there was a deliberate concentration on the bare minimum essential requirements so that the Fund could get up and running. There is still a long list of issues that have postponed to the upcoming 8th meeting in Barbados in October 2014. One of the key issues for Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDs) is the revised program of work on readiness and preparatory support.~The following note outlines the key considerations for readiness support, and makes recommendations for more targeted and effective support for developing countries.
