NTFP enterprise and forest governance: Sal seed
Sal (Shorea Robusta) is a mahor means of survival for a large number of forest dwellers in the Central Indian states of Orissa, Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Across these three states 20 to 30 million forest dwellers depend on sal seeds, leaves and resins for their livelihood. This report provides information from the field on governance constraints affecting sal seed in Central India and recommendations for action.
